Exposed: The Great Yogurt Health Hoax
Plus — A Critical Digestive Health Issue
for American's Revealed . . .

No one knows for sure how it happened . . .

But it's likely that, thousands of years ago, someone accidentally left milk outside in the sun.

yogurtInstead of spoiling, however, this milk fermented. The result was a tangy yet tasty concoction we now know as yogurt.

And while ancient people began purposely making and eating yogurt back as far as 2500 B.C., nobody really knows when humans first realized the health benefits of consuming yogurt's living "friendly" bacteria.

By the 1960s, yogurt began to be popularized in America as a type of health food. And while this may sound like a positive step, it was actually the beginning of a downward spiral for this once-healthful product.

That's why, if you currently spend money on any of the popular yogurt brands lining your supermarket's dairy aisle — and think you're actually boosting your digestive health — I'd ask you to think again . . .

Because in the next few minutes, you'll discover the real truth about yogurt that food manufacturers don't want you to know.

Plus, you'll see why most supplements and foods containing friendly, probiotic bacteria may actually be a waste of your hard-earned money. So I'd urge you to pay close attention to this presentation.

You'll also hear about a shocking digestive issue affecting everyone over 50, a problem so little-known, your own doctor may not have even read about it.

But don't worry . . .

Gain Doctor's Secrets to Great Digestive Health Now

Dr. BrownsteinFortunately, renowned holistic medical physician Dr. David Brownstein will be with us shortly to share his secrets to great digestive health — and give you some simple tips to not only revitalize your intestinal functioning, but also to support your immune system and overall wellness.

Perhaps you recognize Dr. Brownstein as medical editor of the popular newsletter Natural Way to Health. He's also a noted speaker, and author of numerous best-selling health books. And today, he'll be sharing some of his expertise with you.

Plus, you'll also discover how you can easily fight back against annoying but common occurrences like irregular bowel movements, occasional constipation, diarrhea, embarrassing abdominal gas, and more.

But first . . .

A Little Background on Your Hard-working Digestive Tract

You can think of your gastrointestinal tract (also known as your GI tract or gut) as a long hollow tube beginning at your mouth and ending at your anus.

Now, over your lifetime, about 60 TONS of food will pass through your GI tract. Your gut's main function is to digest this food in order to extract vital energy and nutrients, and then expel the remaining material from your body as waste.

intestinesIn this presentation, we're primarily concerned with the lower parts of your digestive system — your small and large intestines.

Your small intestine is actually about 20 feet long — or about 3½ times as long as your height.

Your small intestine plays a crucial role in taking partially digested food from your stomach and absorbing the maximum amount of nutrients from it. In fact, about 90% of digestion and absorption takes place in your small intestine.

Your small intestine also contains a great number of so-called "friendly" bacteria, predominantly of the Lactobacillus type. We'll discuss their importance to your health in more detail shortly.

Now after your small intestine does its job, remaining food material then passes into your large intestine.

Your large intestine is actually shorter than your small intestine, about 5 feet long or so. Calling your intestines "large" or "small" is really due to the width of the tube. Your large intestine is larger in diameter, not length.

Your large intestine performs a number of important functions in digestion, including additional absorption of vitamins and other nutrients. It even helps your body create vitamins, especially some B vitamins and vitamin K, essential to blood clotting.

It also helps absorb water and salts from the remainder of the indigestible food matter to maintain proper fluid balance of your blood, along with many other functions crucial to your health.

And your large intestine also contains plenty of friendly bacteria, predominantly of the Bifidobacteria type.

So both your small and large intestine contain bacteria. In fact, your gut is home to about 100 trillion bacteria weighing 2 or 3 pounds! Because of this huge quantity of living organisms, some scientists consider your gut to be an organ of sorts — they call it the "microbial organ."

That brings us to one of the main benefits of your friendly bacteria . . .

Soothing Your Digestive System Concerns

For you to remain optimally healthy, about 85% of the bacteria in your gut should be "friendly" bacteria, such as Lactobacillus or Bifidobacteria. The remaining 15% are generally non-beneficial bacteria, but their minority status helps keeps them in check.

Unfortunately, in many people this ratio becomes imbalanced. The non-beneficial bacteria increase in numbers, crowding out the friendly bacteria. These friendly bacteria are known as probiotics.

constipationAnd did you realize that more than 100 million Americans suffer from digestive concerns?

In fact, some medical experts will tell you that more people suffer from simple occasional constipation than all other health concerns combined.

Millions of Americans experience occasional bathroom frustrations such as:

  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Irregular bowel movements
  • Gas or bloating
  • Abdominal discomfort

And good news: Supplementing your diet with additional friendly probiotic bacteria may be just what you need to help keep your digestive system more balanced to help your digestive tract run smoothly!

It's not as simple as just buying yogurt or cheap supplements, however, so make sure to read this entire presentation to make sure you aren't wasting your money.

Now when it comes to simple constipation, probiotic bacteria may actually speed up the transit time of waste material in your colon — so you can have more regular and less uncomfortable bowel movements. And with a balanced digestive system, you may experience significantly less gas and bloating. That's because probiotic bacteria help keep your intestinal acidity at a healthy pH level.

ProbioticsProbiotics may also help with occasional diarrhea.

In fact, many studies have been done to confirm that probiotics lower the risk of diarrhea associated with the use of antibiotic drugs. As you can well imagine, antibiotics disrupt the normal balance of bacteria in your gut by indiscriminately killing both friendly and pathogenic strains. Diarrhea is a frequent side effect, but fortunately, supplementing with probiotics can significantly lower the risk of this happening.

This brings me to a unique problem affecting the older population — an issue very few doctors even know about.

Several recent studies, including one out of Johns Hopkins, report that with aging, the population of friendly bacteria such as Bifidobacteria in the large intestine becomes significantly reduced. That means that people in an older age group may start experiencing an imbalance between beneficial and non-beneficial bacteria — and makes probiotics especially important in this age population.

Now this brings me to more probiotic benefits . . .

Probiotics Support a Healthy Immune System — and More

When you think of your immune system, your large intestine is probably not what comes to mind. However, a large portion of your immune system may actually be located in your gut. Scientists call this the GALT, or gut-associated lymphatic tissue.

Numerous studies, including a 2010 study by the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, suggest that probiotics, by introducing "friendly" bacteria into the gut, may help maintain immune system activity.

Besides providing digestive and immune support, ongoing research studies continue to investigate the functions of friendly bacteria and the potential health benefits they may provide for a wide variety of concerns.

Knowing this, why shouldn't you load up on yogurt or just any type of probiotic supplement you may find on your grocery store shelf?

The Real Truth About Yogurt and Most Probiotic Supplements

Food manufacturers would like you to believe otherwise, but the sad truth is that many store-bought yogurt products may be a waste of your hard-earned money.

yogurtUnfortunately, most commercial yogurts are loaded with sugar and other additives, and often are heat processed or pasteurized, which may destroy some of their live bacterial cultures. Additionally, many people have problems digesting dairy products, and the pasteurization process may kill the lactase enzyme, which would have made the dairy product more easily digestible.

And what about taking probiotic supplements? Well, researchers warn that about half of the probiotic products available do not contain the bacteria listed on the label. Plus, even those that do may not have the correct mix of bacterial strains to benefit your health. And low-quality products may not be manufactured in the correct way to help the bacteria survive a trip to the supermarket shelf, much less the harsh trip through your acid-laden GI tract.

For this reason, using a high-quality probiotic supplement is the only way to guarantee maximum health benefits.

In a minute, you'll discover how to choose the right probiotic supplement for your needs, but first Dr. Brownstein will join us now to give you some simple tips for better digestive health and overall wellness with probiotics.

Dr. David Brownstein

Hi, I'm Dr. David Brownstein. Over the 2 decades I've been practicing medicine, I've seen thousands of patients with digestive system complaints. You know, issues of the GI tract are some of the most common reasons people see a doctor or take over-the-counter or prescription drugs. In fact, seven out of every 10 people suffer from digestive health concerns. And more women than men seem to get these problems.

Because so many people suffer from some sort of digestive concerns, I want to give you 5 simple tips for great digestive health:

First, I recommend you avoid dairy products as much as possible. In my experience, I've found many people suffer from food intolerance to cow's milk and other dairy products such as ice cream, half and half, yogurt, and cheese, just to name a few. The casein protein commonly found in dairy products can be problematic. Plus, people who have digestive issues are frequently lactose intolerant, which means they're unable to properly digest the lactose in milk. This can create an imbalance in the digestive system.

Secondly, drink plenty of fluids. Proper hydration can help reduce occasional constipation and can help ease the movement of food through your digestive tract. A good way to help make sure you get enough fluids is to drink a glass of pure water with each meal. Hydration plays a crucial role in the digestion of food and the absorption of nutrients from your digestive tract. Water is required to dissolve nutrients so that they may be absorbed into your bloodstream and delivered to your cells. Just keep in mind that liquids with caffeine, such as coffee and tea, don't count. They can actually have the opposite effect and may, in fact, dehydrate you.

The third thing you should do is get more fiber. A higher fiber diet helps keep food moving through your digestive tract, making you much less likely to get constipated. As an added bonus, it can help you achieve or maintain a healthy weight. It's important to get both insoluble and soluble types of fiber, which each help your GI tract in different ways. Insoluble fiber, commonly known as roughage, can't be digested by your body, so it passes through and adds bulk to your stools. Soluble fiber draws in water and can help prevent stools that are too loose or watery. To get insoluble fiber, include lots of vegetables in your diet; you can get soluble fiber from nuts, seeds, and legumes. You'll also be hearing momentarily about another easy way to increase your daily fiber.

Fourth, start moving more — get active! Particularly if your bowel habits are sluggish and you learn towards constipation, getting more daily exercise can help speed things up in your bowels. I'd go so far as to say exercise is essential for regular bowel movements. In fact, a key risk factor for constipation is inactivity. Exercise helps relieve constipation by decreasing the amount of time it takes food to move through your large intestine, thus limiting the amount of water absorbed from your stool into your body. Plus, since aerobic exercise speeds up your heart rate and respiration, exercise will help stimulate the natural contractions of your intestinal muscles. You want intestinal muscles that contract efficiently to help move waste products out quickly. A consistent walking program — even 15 minutes a day — can help your body and digestive system work better. I'd also recommend you progress to more aerobic exercise as you become more fit.

And of course, my last tip is to take probiotics on a daily basis. This is such a simple thing to do with enormous positive benefits for your digestive system, as well as many other body systems. I use probiotics myself and follow all the tips I've outlined here for you. You'll discover more about how important probiotics are to your health, and how to choose the probiotic that is right for you during the rest of this presentation.

Let me know how you do when you add probiotics and these other simple strategies to your daily routine. I look forward to hearing from you about how much better you feel . . .

You'll find strains from both the Bifidobacteria family and the Lactobacillus family, and here's why:

  • Bifidobacteria strains primarily work in the large intestine to help detoxify your colon and support normal elimination.
  • Lactobacillus strains primarily work in the small intestine to assist in digestion and absorption of foods, particularly in absorption of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

To get into a bit more detail, here is a brief overview of the six strains of probiotic helpers you'll find in Bactipro™:

Bifidobacterium bifidum — This strain of probiotic bacteria is the most prominent one found in the colon and female vaginal tract. Like all probiotics, it helps the body produce and absorb vitamins. Plus, it supports immune system function, better GI tract function, may offer benefits against yeast overgrowth, and helps for occasional diarrhea.

Bifidobacterium longum — This bacterial strain, considered by many researchers to be one of the most important probiotics, is also found throughout the colon. It produces lactic acid, which increases acidity in the gut to help inhibit the growth of non-beneficial microorganisms. Studies suggest it promotes overall digestive health and supports immune health.

Lactobacillus acidophilus — Many people have heard of this probiotic strain, because it is often found in yogurt. It works primarily in the small intestine, and also has the potential to optimize the health of the vaginal and urinary tract. Additionally, it can decrease antibiotic side effects such as diarrhea, and alleviate simple digestive concerns, including occasional constipation.

Lactobacillus casei — This species of bacteria is found in the mouth and small intestine, where it has a wide pH and temperature range. This makes it better able to survive the trip through the GI tract for more effectiveness. L. casei is also thought to provide immune support.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus — This probiotic species is found primarily in the small intestine and vaginal tract. It is resistant to stomach acid, which makes it valuable in a probiotic formula. It helps optimize both the intestinal and genitourinary tract. Studies indicate that it can reduce occasional diarrhea, and help with lactose intolerance.

Lactobacillus sporogenes — Also known as Bacillus coagulans and sold under the trademarked name Lactospore®, this bacterial strain offers the benefit of producing spores, which offer greater resistance to destruction as they pass through the GI tract. Just a few of the benefits seen in studies with this strain include help for occasional diarrhea, simple constipation, and other digestive concerns.

Reason #2: Bactipro™ Gives You More Fiber With No Effort

You may hear dietary fiber termed "roughage." Actually, the insoluble component of fiber is the part of certain foods your body is unable to absorb, and therefore passes mainly intact throughout your digestive tract.

A high-fiber diet has many benefits, including promoting bowel movements and helping alleviate occasional constipation.

Constipation is actually one of the most common health concerns faced by Americans today. And it's especially common in older adults due to:

  • Poor diet
  • Inadequate fluid intake
  • Not enough exercise or prolonged bed rest
  • Side effect of prescription drugs
  • Overuse of laxatives and enemas

That's why getting more fiber in your daily diet is critical.

Fiber is also good for your health, promotes balanced cholesterol and blood glucose levels, and aids in weight management. A higher fiber diet tends to make you feel "full" for a longer time, decreasing hunger, and making you less likely to overeat.

Unfortunately, according to the National Fiber Council, the average American gets less than half the daily recommended amount of dietary fiber necessary for good health.

And that's why Dr. Brownstein made sure Bactipro™ contains a full 6 grams of fiber per daily serving. And not just any old fiber, either.

Bactipro's fiber blend includes the well-studied fiber inulin and the breakthrough fiber product Fibersol®-2.

Both human and animal studies over a 15-year period demonstrate that Fibersol-2 helps maintain and support intestinal regularity, healthy blood sugar and triglyceride levels when used as part of a healthy diet.

Plus, Fibersol-2 helps relieve occasional constipation and can improve stool consistency. And recent studies indicate that Fibersol-2 helps in feeling full after eating for a longer period of time, making it helpful in weight management.

Inulin is a well-studied prebiotic and natural carbohydrate derived from foods like chicory root. Via the intestinal fermentation process, both inulin and Fibersol-2 nourish and help create more of your healthy intestinal microflora.

That leads me to . . .

Great Reason #3 — Get PREbiotics and PRObiotics in One Tasty Product

fruits and vegiesYou've already heard a lot about probiotics and what they can do for you. But perhaps you haven't heard of prebiotics . . .

Prebiotics are nutrients that feed, nourish, and help create the beneficial probiotic bacteria in your intestines. Basically, it all comes down to the fiber you just heard all about.

The Fibersol-2 and inulin blend you'll find in Bactipro™ will help feed and encourage the growth of more friendly bacteria in your gut. So you not only get more fiber in your diet, but your new probiotic "friends" will enjoy the added nourishment, too.

Great Reason #4: Get More Health-Boosting Antioxidants in Bactipro™

In each tasty Bactipro™ wafer, you'll find an awesome antioxidant blend of eight fruit-based nutrients, including resveratrol and grape seed extract.

Antioxidants help protect and repair your body's cells from damage caused by free radicals. It's important to minimize the impact of these free radicals on your body by boosting your antioxidant intake.

Resveratrol and grape seed extract, both found in Bactipro™, help support the heart. Grape compounds also promote good brain health.

Lutein is important to promote eye health, and lycopene is a powerful antioxidant that helps with eye and heart health. Cranberry promotes good urinary health. Mangosteen is a fruit that helps promote proper inflammation response within the body.

Great Reason #5: Bactipro™ Contains a Power-Packed Phytonutrient Blend of 26 Fruits and Vegetables

You many wonder "what in the heck are phytonutrients?" Well, they are the natural chemical compounds that give plant foods their colors. Over 5,000 different phytonutrients have been identified to date.

grapesAnd while phytonutrients do not have established daily requirement guidelines, they are crucial for overall health. In particular, phytonutrients help support good heart and eye health. They are also believed to play a role in detoxifying, repairing DNA damage, and promoting a proper inflammatory response.

That's why Dr. Brownstein made sure Bactipro™ contains a robust complex of phytonutrients from 26 different fruits and vegetables, including the ones listed below:

Carotenoid Phytonutrients: Alpha- and beta-carotenes provide yellow and orange colors in certain fruits and vegetables, such as carrots. These compounds are important in eye health and immune system health. Lycopene gives red or pink colors to fruits or vegetables such as tomatoes, and helps promote cellular health. Lutein and zeaxanthin are important for eye health, and are found in greens such as kale and spinach.

Flavonoid Phytonutrients: Quercetin is found in apples, grapes, berries, and onions. Quercetin is important to support good heart health. Hesperidin is found in citrus fruits, and optimizes the body's inflammatory response. It is also an antioxidant.

Resveratrol Phytonutrients: Found in grapes, this compound has been studied for its heart health-promoting qualities as well as its effects on lifespan. Glucosinolate Phytonutrients: Found in cruciferous vegetables, including kale, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts, these phytonutrients help promote cellular integrity.

Ellagic Acid Phytonutrients: Found in raspberries and strawberries, ellagic acid promotes heart health.

Wow! As you can see, Dr. Brownstein packed an enormous amount of nutrients and probiotic bacteria into these chewable, delicious Bactipro™ wafers.

And unlike many cheap and inferior probiotics on the market, Bactipro™ is manufactured under stringent quality controls to ensure the potency and stability of the product and the bacterial strains.
